Greater Good Glass is a Scottish social enterprise specialising in high-quality windows, doors, conservatories and glass garden rooms.
We were founded with a simple idea: the home improvement industry could be better.
A Different Kind of Window & Door Company
After years of seeing customers pressured, confused and overcharged by traditional window companies, childhood friends Joe and Dougie decided to create a different kind of business. One built on fairness, transparency, quality and respect.
No salespeople. No hard sell. No pretend discounts. No rushed decisions.
Just honest advice, properly fitted products and a business model that helps support charities and community groups across Scotland.
How Greater Good Glass Started
Greater Good Glass was created by lifelong friends Joe and Dougie.
Dougie had spent decades working in the window and door industry and had seen the same problems again and again: inflated prices, commission-driven salespeople, pressure tactics and customers being pushed into decisions they were not ready to make.
Joe came from a third sector and social enterprise background, with experience in building purpose-led organisations that do more than simply make profit.
Together, they saw an opportunity to create a window and door company that combined industry experience with social values. A company that would install excellent products, treat customers properly and use part of its profits to support good causes.
Over a few beers, the idea became a plan. That plan became Greater Good Glass.
Why We Are Different
We are not a traditional double glazing company.
We do not employ salespeople. We do not send someone to your home to sit for hours until you sign. We do not invent discounts, grants or limited-time offers. We do not make you feel uncomfortable in your own living room.

Our windows are PAS24:2012 accredited by the british standards system. This shows that every component has been subjected to a series of tests demonstrating enhanced security performance for your peace of mind.
The British Board of Agrément is the UKs major authority offering approval of construction products, systems and installers. Our windows have been certified and approved proving their quality to architects, engineers and specifiers (but most importantly to our customers) in the UK.
A police backed initiative, Secured By Design status is awarded to products designed with exceptional security features as their main priority. Our windows are hold this certification and are tested to meet the requirements of the Association of Chief Police Officers.
